Created a football-themed bingo game that lets fans play along with 3pm Saturday matches — turning live scores into social gameplay. Designed from concept to launch, Bingoalz reached over 1,000 weekly users and built the foundation for monetisation through ads, cross-sell opportunities, and white-label licensing.

The Challenge

Bingoalz started as just an idea among friends: “What if bingo was based on football scores?” The challenge was to turn that concept into an engaging, user-friendly product that could capture football fans’ attention during live matches — while also supporting a strategy for monetisation through in-game ads and white-label opportunities.

My Process

  • User Research: Interviewed football fans to understand viewing habits, motivations, and preferred second-screen experiences.

  • Competitor Analysis: Studied sports betting, fantasy football, and bingo apps to identify opportunities to blend simplicity with engagement.

  • Wireframing & User Flows: Designed onboarding, card generation, and gameplay journeys focused on speed and clarity.

  • UI Design: Delivered a clean, mobile-first interface optimised for pub and social environments.

  • Iteration: Through testing and user feedback, we introduced a live Vidiprinter and leaderboard to boost engagement and social play, explored build-an-acca betting functionality, planned cross-sell opportunities for related products, and tested additional card purchases to refine monetisation.

The Solution

Key Design Features

  • Effortless Onboarding: Quick registration and card generation up to 30 minutes before kick-off.
  • Acca Integration: Embedded betting option that aligned naturally with the bingo mechanic.
  • Ad & Cross-Sell Design: UI included flexible ad zones for in-game promos and partnership opportunities.
  • Scalable Framework: Built-in flexibility for white-labelling and future feature expansion.
  • Leaderboard: Added social competition — users could see how they ranked among friends and other players.
  • Vidiprinter Feed: Live, animated updates created a dynamic, “Final Score”-style experience that kept fans on-site longer.

Outcomes

  • 1,000+ weekly active users post-launch.

  • Increased dwell time after adding Vidiprinter.

  • Monetisation roadmap defined: ad inventory, white-label versions, and paid card options.

  • Positive user feedback: overwhelming theme of ‘love it!’

  • Next steps: Testing team selection and acca-bet features to deepen engagement and drive revenue.
